NAVY µLift

NAVY µLift is a lift for mounting a positioning system on vessels performing ROV operations. It positions the transducer accurately, retracts automatically when the vessel moves to reduce the risk of equipment damage, and is delivered with an automated valve and air-purging for dry storage of the transducer. The full system is operated from a single common panel from the position of choice.

  • Accurate ROV positioning to 4000 m
  • Automatic lift-up on vessel movement — protects the equipment
  • Single common control panel for lift, valve and air-purge
NAVY µLift
How it works

Protects the transducer, extends when needed.

NAVY µLift automatically retracts the transducer into a protective housing during vessel transit and lowers it back into the water for ROV operations, keeping sensitive acoustic equipment safe from impact and turbulence while maintaining precise positioning.

NAVY µLift system overview

Robust, hull-certified valve construction

The µLift valve is a heavy-duty and robust construction, certified to be part of the vessel's hull. It closes the trunk completely when the transducer is retracted, and together with the automated air-purging it keeps the transducer dry and protected between operations.

Key features

Engineered for professional use.

Simple installation

Fits all types of vessels. NAVY assists with engineering together with the yard for optimal installation, plus operator training.

Automated valve

Delivered with automated valve and air-flushing for dry storage of the transducer.

One common panel

Lift, valve and air-purging are all operated from one shared display.

Calibrated once

Calibrated on first installation for accurate long-term positioning.

Customized stroke length

Standard stroke length is 1400 mm and can be customized from 600 to 2000 mm to suit the hull and the installation.

Flexible payload

Standard configuration for Kongsberg µPAP-200. Available as an option or customized for Sonardyne HPT-3000 or a subsea camera.

Delivery & support

NAVY follows the µLift through the whole life cycle — from project design and customization to sea trial, calibration and long-term service.

01

Engineering & project design

NAVY engineers the installation together with the yard, including customized stroke length for the hull and operation.

02

Placement analysis

Positioning of the trunk is analysed with regard to external noise sources for the best possible acoustic performance.

03

Installation & commissioning

Mechanical and electrical installation followed by full commissioning of lift, valve and air-purging.

04

Sea trial / SAT & calibration

Sea trial and site acceptance testing with calibration of the positioning system before handover.

05

Support & service

Continuous follow-up with both remote support and physical on-site support and service.
